The Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA) is set to take a major step towards the digital transformation of university sports with the introduction of the NUGA E-Registry, the official registration and engagement platform for NUGA UNICAL 2026, Paradise Games.

Far more than a registration portal, the E-Registry is being designed as the digital foundation of a smarter, more connected university sports ecosystem. The platform will provide verified digital identities for athletes, volunteers, officials, media professionals, sponsors, alumni, vendors, and sports fans participating in the Games.

Through the system, stakeholders will be able to register, receive official communications, access Games services, participate in volunteer programmes, connect with the wider NUGA community, and engage with opportunities before, during, and after the competition.

The platform will also lay the groundwork for two ambitious long-term initiatives: a Nigerian University Sports Social Network and a NUGA Alumni Network aimed at supporting athlete development, mentorship, sponsorship, sports infrastructure, and institutional partnerships.

In addition, the E-Registry will support accreditation, volunteer management, stakeholder engagement, sponsorship intelligence, and community building, creating a lasting digital footprint for university sports in Nigeria.

Currently undergoing final development and testing, the platform is expected to be formally launched ahead of the 28th NUGA Games following a scheduled user validation exercise.

As preparations continue for NUGA UNICAL 2026, the E-Registry is emerging as one of the most transformative innovations in the history of Nigerian university sports, providing a digital home for everyone connected to the Games.
